MCCRIMMON AND MACRIMMON FAMILY GEDCOM

Since you're looking at this page, you are probably either thinking about downloading my GEDCOM file or you're wondering, "What the heck is a GEDCOM file?"

If you're in the former group, the file is WinZipped to 133KB and expands to 780 KB. It has over 1862 individuals and 572 families representing 402 surnames. The most common surnames in this database are : Armstrong(34), Brown(24), MacDonald(33), Fraser(41), MacCaskill(44), MacCrimmon(255), Rye(22), MacLeod(29), McCrimmon(324)--almost all of whom are related to me in some way.
They may be cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, great grandparents, etc., as well as inlaws of the same, or inlaws of inlaws, etc., etc., etc. You may want to extract this file into a separate database and peel off only the names you're interested in before merging this data into yours. I've found that working with this many records can be overwhelming.

If you're in the latter group, I may have just given you an idea of what a GEDCOM file is. Basically, it's a text file. It is a genealogy database in its raw-data form . It is formatted according to a "gedcom standard" which most of the modern genealogy programs can understand.

In order to make use of this file, you will need:

More information is available from The GEDCOM Standard Release 5.5

And now, without any further introduction, here is the latest version of my data. . .
